The Elevated Women series showcases the women we work with that embody our ethos of Elevated Everyday Style and inspire POL collections. 

 We've worked with model Jennifer Gilmore many times over the last few years, and she never ceases to inspire with her lovely nature and energy on set. To celebrate the launch of our Spring campaign, we spoke to Jennifer from her home in Berlin.

Where is your favourite place to live in the world, and why?

Berlin is my home. I would always choose to live in my favourite city, knowing that this title can be fleeting. Berlin's liberality and opportunities for self expression attract me for now.

Who was your first crush?

Pet Shop Boys.

When did you start modelling?

I started when I was fourteen. Very young in my opinion, perhaps too young.

What's your favourite memory since starting your career?

A fond memory in the earlier days is sitting at Art&Me, a cafe Surry Hills, for hours every week that would always have an influx of models flowing in and out. They were the glory days in my opinion. Too young to be tainted by the industry, yet old enough to appreciate it nonetheless.

What advice would you give to your younger self?

Just be yourself and find a market that suits you. Don't morph yourself to fit into a market. If it's not enjoyable, it's not worth it.

What handbag item can't you live without? 

Weleda Skin Food.

What is your favourite thing to do to give back?

I have an unhealthy obsession with asking the street people of Berlin what their story is. Usually at the end of our chats, I know it will be them that have benefited from it for it is not often that they get an opportunity to distract themselves from the complexities of their life on the streets.
