Tina wears the Cedar Dress.
Many of you may know Tina as Lah-Lah, the main character in Lah-Lah's Adventures on ABC Kids. Since 2009, Lah-Lah has been introducing kids to musical instruments and styles through videos, albums and live shows.
Tina is a longtime friend of POL's designer Sam and a supporter of POL Clothing since the beginning. Join us as we chat to Tina about her career and how she unwinds, and keep scrolling for gorgeous shots of Tina at home in our Winter 22 collection (and photos of her cute dog Panko).
What are your morning rituals?
I actually love my mornings. I’m usually the first one up at home so I like to meditate for 15-20 minutes, then it’s coffee! After coffee (THE most important bit) I love getting outside for a walk with Panko, our golden retriever. She keeps me fit! Oh and yes I grab another coffee on the walk, always!
Where do you feel most at home?
At home, I know that sounds silly but work is at the office and home is home. I was terrible during lockdown, and really found it hard to do any work. When I walk in the door at home, I exhale.

How did you come to the career you’re in now?
The joke in our family is, one day I’ll actually figure out what I want to do when I grow up. My career and life seems to evolve every 7 years. Our previous main business was Lah-Lah, a band for children that toured around Australia introducing kids to music and musical instruments. We have 3 international TV shows and a really successful YouTube channel and membership site. We still work on Lah-Lah, but through our love of working with video, our business is now primarily about helping others make video.
Courage on Camera is a training and mentoring program that helps women in business find their confidence and voice and tell their story authentically so that they can grow and scale their business online. So music led me to video and video led me to mentoring and training…kind of cool when you think of it that way.

What advice would you give to your younger self?
Don’t worry so much, it’s all going to be fine. I’m such a planner but I never could have planned this and it turned out better than I could have planned. Learning to be more present and live in the moment would have made those earlier years so much easier but life is about contrast. The early year struggles make the abundant times so much sweeter. So my message to myself, 'chill girl, just chill!'
What is a product you just can’t live without?
Did I mention my coffee machine? Oh yes I did:) Probably my skin cream. My big splurge every month is buying a really good moisturiser. I love L’Occitane because it doesn’t have any crap in it and I have super sensitive skin.

How do you relax?
Meditating everyday is really important for me but next on the list would be baths. Love the water and long baths. I’ve stayed a couple of times at Billabong Retreat in Windsor and they have the best outside baths under the trees. That is my idea of heaven.
Do you have a signature scent?
Not really, I usually forget to put on perfume but Issey Miyake is probably my go to. Love how light and fresh it feels and it lasts forever!

What is your favourite thing to do to give back to the world/pay it forward?
That would have to be music. For the last 12 years, we’ve been creating programs that share music into preschool and daycare centres. Lah-Lah’s Music Room did exactly that, for every program we sold, we gifted the same program to that family’s centre or school. It was about helping families help us to pay music forward. Music is such an incredible medium to bring joy, and sometimes that’s all we need, a little joy and a little love.
